 
Hazarous Environment Applications
Hazarous Environments are found in all areas of industry and any equipment used must
be certified safe to be operated in these environments. Examples of such areas are:
- Chemical Plants
- Oil and Gas Production Facilities
- Grain Processing Plants
- Dry, dusty environments where ignition could occur
- Inside Storage Tanks on land or at sea
- Fuel Depots
- Mining
Cygnus has developed a Multiple Echo ultrasonic thickness gauge that is certified for use in these environments.
The gauge is certified to:
- EX II 1 G EEx ia IIC T6 (ATEX)
- CSA Class 1 Group A Division 1 (Canadian Standards Association)
As well as being Intrinsically Safe the Cygnus 1 Intrinsically Safe gauge is extremely rugged and is suited to
harsh environments.
