Road Tankers are susceptible to corrosion from the inside out, which could potentially be very
dangerous to both the public and operators.
Most tanker operators regularly survey the condition of their fleet using ultrasonic thickness gauges to give
a reliable indication of any metal reduction due to corrosion and erosion.
The Cygnus gauge provides the ideal instrument for tanker surveys, it will read through paint and even labels and our Multiple Echo
technique ensures a reliable thickness measurement is given.
Due to the symmetry of tanks a Cygnus 3 Datalogger can easily be used to 'map' the whole tank area.
This ensures thickness measurements are taken in a organised and repeatable way, with the data being readily transferrable to a computer or spreadsheet.
